Most of the information used in this article can be seen in Cal/OSHA’s general industry standard 5157 – Permit-Required Confined Spaces; and the construction industry standard 1952 – General Requirements.
While studying California’s confined space regulations, we instantly saw that the wording of entire sections used in the general and construction industry was identical. The only difference was the identifiers’ use to navigate through the sections and subsections. Please see the examples below.
(5) An employer may use the alternate procedures specified in subsection (c)(5)(B) for entering a permit space under the conditions set forth in subsection (c)(5)(A).
